The drum sounds are good, but this is just a toy. It dosen't work with garage band without crashing and it can only be programed to simple meters.

Add the missing ingredient to your Mac-based home recording studio with iDrum--a fully programmable drum machine. iDrum turns any Macintosh computer running Mac OS X 10.2 or later into a slamming beatbox ready to lay down your grooves, your way. From ambient down tempo to bangin' hip-hop to frenetic drum and bass, iDrum has your back (beat). It's as easy to use as the hardware drum machines of yesteryear, but with all the flexibility of a software-based virtual instrument. iDrum integrates seamlessly with GarageBand, Logic, Digital Performer, and other applications that support AudioUnit plug-ins, or you can run it as a standalone application. This means you can use iDrum to create beats from within your favorite music software environment--perfectly synced with your arrangement and always right where you left off when you return to the project.
iDrum comes with hundreds of tight drum samples arranged in nearly 200 iDrum files, each with several preset patterns programmed by some of the best beatmeisters working today. But these beats are just the beginning. iDrum also features a wide array of sound-shaping DSP functions, such as filters, amp envelopes, and even crunchy old-school drum machine bit reduction. You can also load any AIFF or WAV sound file up to 2 MB in size as a drum sample. iDrum's sonic palette is limited only by your imagination. iDrum will also export your patterns and songs as AIFF audio, MIDI, or GarageBand-compatible AIFF for further editing.
Drum machine neophytes will experience the same magical "instant gratification" fun that hooked an entire generation of musicians on the hardware drum machines of yesteryear. Pros will find that there's simply no faster, easier way to access and manage large, unwieldy drum sample libraries, get a smooth beat going, and export it into the format you need (all for less money than a replacement pad for your MPC 3000).
What's in the Box iDrum virtual drum machine software, user's manual.

Sony Acid Music Studio 8.0 Review

Sony Acid Music Studio 8.0
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Your level of creativity is the only limit with this great value program.
I downloaded the FREE trial of this software from Sony Creative Software and mucked around with it for a whole month, to see if it would do the things I wanted. I am using Acid Music Studio 8.0 to create sound effects and soundtracks for my YouTube videos and my multi-media video artwork.
This program would suit the home musician or the musician just starting out with a limited budget who would like a professional program to record and mix their music.I warn anyone who is creative, that this software is Highly Addictive. You can spend many, many hours exploring all the inbuilt synthesizer preset programs and tweek them with an infinity of different settings contained within the Fx Effects chains.
You can also use the 3.5 Gigabytes of loops and samples that come with the "purchased copy" (not available with trial), to construct your own music in just a few clicks.
Please note something once you have downloaded the "loops & samples":
In the explorer view tab of Acid Music Studio, make sure you click the View button and tick all options - especially tick "Show All Files", otherwise you may freak out and think that you can't access the loops and samples.
This is a MIDI file based program, actually a very large part of the program. So if you want to make the most of using Acid Music Studio 8.0, then get a MIDI to USB connection so that you can connect a Synthesizer Keyboard to your computer. If you do this, you gain amazing control of the program and can control the inbuilt synth on your computer.
You will have to be patient in learning how to set things up, if working with connected instruments. There are a lot of little settings that have to be set just right for the sound & MIDI files to communicate in both directions. There is a fairly good Help file which will teach you how to do things, but as they say: Rome wasn't built in one day!
This product really seems to have hit the mark this time with Version 8.0
I use it with Sony Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD 10 production suite and it works just fine.
I'm not a musician, just a novice.
Whether you are a novice or a musician, I'm sure you will love this program.
Ridiculous value for money - honestly.
I hope this review can help out a little bit.
Regards Dex.
P.S. I had problems downloading from Sony once, however my Customer Support Request was answered immediately and the problem was resolved in just a few hours.

Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Microphone with Cakewalk Sonar LE Review

Samson C01U USB Studio Condenser Microphone with Cakewalk Sonar LE
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
Small video to demonstrate the audio quality. The video was shot in iMovie and I didn't really care about the quality of the video (since it didn't matter). I was about two feet away from the microphone the entire time, talking at normal volume.
If you use GarageBand or Logic (Mac OS), the audio options for vocal enhancement will make the mic sound even louder when recording podcasts or music. Audacity also has such options, but if you're a Mac user stick with GarageBand/Logic. There is very little white noise or static when recording with the mic. A really good use for the mic is podcasting, as your voice is projected quite clearly to the audience. Since it's USB powered you can use it anywhere, for anything, but I don't find it to be all that portable (i.e. for remote webcam); for me not a big deal. But if you're at home and want a better audio alternative for voice chat or Skype, this mic is excellent.
Overall I'm quite satisfied. Well worth the money.

The C01U USB Studio Condenser Mic is an affordable studio condenser mic with a USB interface, granting musicians who record music on computers a simple, affordable way to capture high-quality vocal and acoustic instrument performances. The mic also opens up possibilities for anyone who records audio, from Podcasters, journalists and students to business people adding audio files to websites and multimedia presentations.

Based on the C01 The C01U condenser microphone is based on our Samson's C01, and features a 19mm internal shockmounted diaphragm with a cardioid pickup pattern, ensuring pristine, studio-quality recordings.
A high-quality A/D converter and USB output provide the direct PC connection, and the microphone itself is built to last, with solid die-cast construction.
Plug-and-Play Seamless integration was the idea, and it was obtained by creating a studio condenser microphone that can be plugged into any computer with no in/out boxes, no expensive computer pre-amps, and no drivers to install--just a USB cable.
The C01U works perfectly on any computer, Mac or PC, and with any DAW software program. It immediately solves a huge problem for users of many laptops, many of which have no other input method for audio devices.
Samson SoftPre The Samson C03U is designed to be fully functional without installing additional drivers. But for those who would like a little something extra, Samson offers its downloadable SoftPre software applet, which gives you an Input Level Meter, Volume control, High-pass filter and Phase Switch, for Mac or Windows.
Cakewalk Sonar LE The C01UCW package comes bundled with Cakewalk Sonar LE, the vastly popular digital audio workstation software, giving users additional power and versatility to digitally record audio in any situation.
SONAR LE has been designed to provide a simple yet complete solution for creating music. With support for up to 64 tracks and 24 track effects, 8 physical in/outs at 24bit/192kHz, SONAR LE is an ideal match for the CO1U. The package also includes 2 instruments, 6 MIDI effects, and 14 audio effects.
Accessories In addition to the C01U microphone and Cakewalk software, the package comes with a desktop mic stand, mic clip, and USB cable.

Steinberg CI1 USB Audio Interface Review

Steinberg CI1 USB Audio Interface
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I needed a very simple audio interface to get good live DAW output with soft synths. I tried the Numark DJ|iO and its ASIO driver was at an uncontrollably high output level that caused distortion. Couldn't figure out how to fix that without buying a mixer, so I left it. This was a shame because that device's DirectSound output in Windows applications was ABSOLUTELY STELLAR. In fact, I didn't return it...I simply gave it to my brother for the simple purpose of listening to music.
Back to the CI1......This interface has good control. Decent but not wonderful sound. Mine has a problem with the TRS input...only the XLR input works. I'm currently working on getting it replaced through Steinberg/Yamaha. They have GREAT customer service.
No latency issue as described in previous review. I'm using a Turion 64 processor with 3 GB RAM on a laptop. Don't know what the problem is for previous reviewer but I doubt that it is this interface's fault. I recommend this device for low budget consumers. If the sound quality were as good as the DJ|iO, I would give it 5 stars.

M-Audio Oxygen 61 61-Key USB MIDI Controller Review

M-Audio Oxygen 61 61-Key USB MIDI Controller
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
It's really unfortunate the other reviews aren't more universal and fair when it comes to this MIDI Controller.
I bought it a few weeks ago, and it does EXACTLY what I expected it to (and more) ~ The materials it's made out of are perfect. On my computer it functions perfectly (my computer recognized it no problem using Vista) ~
Regardless, this keyboard fits perfectly on my desk, is solid, feels just like all my regular keyboards as far as quality goes... and well... gosh... I don't have a single complaint.
If you don't look at the system requirements before buying this keyboard --- please don't leave a negative review on it just because you failed to do your part.
It's time to upgrade your computer from Windows 3.1 folks --- and stop slamming technology around like a big angry monkey :) ~
Pardon my humor, I just love this MIDI Controller & feel sorry for the company that made it as they have to suffer unfair reviews like the ones I've seen.
"MY CAR DOESN'T WORK!!! YOUR DEALERSHIP IS HORRIBLE!!!!" --- "Did you fill it with gas sir?" --- "FILL IT WITH WHAT!?!?!" --- "Gas..." --- "STOP TALKING DOWN TO ME!!! YOU'RE ALL HORRIBLE!!!!" [stomps out of the room and walks down the street with his clothes inside out wearing his glasses upside down]
Yes, those are the kinds of people that are leaving reviews on this product :D!!!
Just to answer a quick concern I had --- YES! It does work with FL Studio 9.
