They are well made, solid, compact and easily transportable. These stands can take a lot of use. The instrument sits comfortably and securely in the stand at home or on stage. The material has not worn out in the past 10 years of use.

(More customer reviews)I just bought and received this new generation mini amp yesterday, and I am completely pleased with this plug direct to your electric guitar amp without cord. It's my second ampuplugnplay mini amp. The second amp I still have that I bought about three years ago and still works like when I bought it. This model has better features clean mode for rhythm and clean playing and the overdrive mode for blues, metal and rock guitar. The switch and 1/4 plug seems pretty sturdy built but common sense tells you make sure you don't bump into things with it on your guitar. I like the headphone input switch in case someone is sleeping your playing is private to your ears. But the speaker on is still ok to play without neighbors knocking on your door to turn it down especially if you live in an apartment - it's ideal amp to have, meaning, it's loud enough for you and the people you are playing to in a smaller environment. It's convenient because you don't need to connect to a regular amp. The mini amp is there by pluging to your amp right away even outdoors like in a park. The main thing is I like the sound from this amp it is no Fender Twin or Marshal but it's sure nice to have and I like the features of it, too.
I have been playing off and on since the '70s and and bought many effect pedals from early on not to mention guitars and amps but having this little amp is one of my best guitar accessory purchases I have made.
The MP3 I will have to wait I understand you play along with the recorded music which is great, but I don't have access to a MP3 right now sounds like another good feature to have.

Amplitube Live Review

(More customer reviews)To my ears, the software is quite good. It does take the raw signal from an electric guitar and process it in such a way that it sounds like it is coming out of a selection of real amplifiers. This way you get some classic sounds without having to go out and buy a half dozen amplifiers--and you don't have to lug them around! The software also includes noise gate, reverb, delay, distortion pedal, etc.
To correct a few erroneous comments in other reviews . . .
Even if you have a fast computer, you can still have unacceptable delays between when you strum your guitar and when the processed sound comes out of your computer. This is not Amplitube's fault. You also need a high quality sound card and low latency drivers such as ASIO or WDM, and you need to know how to optimize the latency settings. If you are using a laptop with a generic sound card and MME drivers, your delay will be long regardless how good your computer is.
You can use Amplitube LE for recording, but you will need a host software such as Cakewalk, or Cubase. You can't record if Amplitube is all you have, and I don't think they made that claim.
As I said, Amplitube sounds pretty good and realistic to my ears, but of course, that is a matter of taste.

Dunlop The Original Crybaby Pedal Review

There are a lot of wah pedals with a wider range out there but if you are looking for the traditional wah sound, this is the way to go. No other company has sucessfully replicated THIS sound. Other wahs are cool because of additional features and for their own affect (yes that is the spelling I intended). I gave this a 4 for the lack of features. If you buy this, a try adjusting the pot (read the instructions). Most people do not know about this feature but you can really change the voicing of this wah wah.

Pignose 7-100 Legendary portable amplifier Review

(More customer reviews)Once, many years when lunch was half a loaf of fresh bread (baguette or ficelle) and a bottle of white wine, I lived in Paris (France) and my entire income was derived from playing a beaten up Strat (I wish I still had that guitar!) through a Pignose in the Metro. The sound was perfect, the subway provided georgeous reverb, and the tone was thrilling. I played well enough that the cops didn't move me on too much, and the skinheads that surrounded me, despite my fears as I was a long-haired hippie in those halcyon days, loved my my extended version of "red house" - I dragged it out to nine or ten minutes expecting to be beaten up at the end! They over-tipped and and cheered like a football (ok soccer) crowd. Here's the secret with pignose amps, you can create all sorts of different tones by opening and closing the door at different angles, and how the speaker is pointed is crucial in a reverberent room - or hall. The color of this unit is a soft burgundy (almost brick red in color). Paired with the Zero Hum AC Adaptor, it's a highly portable amp setup. "Ultra-portable" by using a 9V battery instead of the AC adaptor. I do think they are best purchased together to enjoy all the benefits of this rig though.
A headphone jack on the amp means you can enjoy the amp's impressive sound quality without bothering the neighbors or waking your spouse.
Included with the amp is an Owner's Manual with simple start-up instructions. You'll need to have your own cord (the one that goes from the guitar to the amp isn't provided as part of the amp package...). The manual has several control settings for the following sound tweaks:

Jim Dunlop ROCK-MA Rockman Metal Ace Review

(More customer reviews)I bought the X100 wayyy back in the early 90's, and it was way ahead of it's time. Built in chorus, reverb, it sounded excellent. For some reason, it no longer works, and given my loyalty to SR&D Rockman product line, I didn't want to try anything else, I wanted to buy another Rockman headphone amp. So I opted for this one. Today, Dunlop owns SR&D. The Dunlop website doesn't show you much, and it's not clear on what the difference is between the different Rockman Ace products. What's worse is that it doesn't show you the controls on top. Because of my loyalty, I bought it anyway.
Here's what you get. A stripped down version of the X100, a clean sound, and 2 types of distortion, one heavier than the other. The cleaner distortion, takes a second to build up to a heavier sound, it's hard to describe. It starts out like a light distortion, then gets heavier. Not sure why Dunlop would release a product that does this.
I have the classic Rockman rack effects when it was under SR&D, before Dunlop bought the product line. Those products are worth every penny, and I haven't found anything that comes close to sound you get from those effects. I don't know why Dunlop has killed the product line, and offering a watered down version of the best headphone amp ever, the X100, not to mention they discontinued all the rack effects.
The price you pay here on Amazon, is worth it. I wouldn't pay full price for this unit. It's ok, it's not great, or the wow I get from the X100, and maybe there's something else that's better, and worth paying more money for and would have added effects.

SKB 335 Type Shaped Hardshell - TSA Latch, Over-Molded Handle Review

(More customer reviews)I recently bought an Epiphone Sheraton II. At the time of my order, that was the guitar Amazon pictured in the case for this particular product. It's difficult to find a case that fits the guitar, because Epiphones seem to be about an inch longer at the headstock than similar semi-hollow and hollow body guitars. This case is great. My guitar fits snugly, and slips in and out easily. The case feels rock solid, both the shell and the latches. SKB's site lists all the guitar models that they claim fit for each case type, so double check there for your own guitar.
This is the second SKB case I've bought (the other for a Gibson SG), and I recommend them highly. Don't take your guitar to a jam in a gig bag, and don't get a case where you have to compromise on fit. Your guitar is safe in an SKB.
