(More customer reviews)I've carried this amp in a large Pelican case, with tools and electronic test equipment banging around inside. Security personnel all over the world frequently search my checked baggage because of the amount of electronic equipment I carry, and they never put everything back the way I packed it.
With all of that abuse, the only hint of damage is one small nick in the knob on the gain pot. Occasionally, one of the speakers will come loose, but it's very easy to open the back (5 phillips-head screws) and put the speaker back in place.
It has two 4-ohm speakers, wired in series.
The little amp sounds good. I like clean tones, and this thing delivers. Sometimes I like to rock out with some crunch, and it brings that through as well. It also has a little fold-out steel wire stand on the back so it can lean back. This is very helpful, as the guitar cable would tend to make it tip forward without that feature. My favorite mini-amp so far!
My only complaint is that they could have made it smaller. It doesn't need the "amp head". The controls could have fit in the speaker cabinet, facing up, like the mini-deluxe. But that's a very minor concern.
The enclosure is quality plastic. The speakers are very well protected. The cloth on front is strictly aesthetic.
This little thing is well worth the price, especially if you travel a lot and need something that can take the abuse of baggage handlers and security personnel.
